Due to the recent inclement weather I have had to use the new boiler more than I would have expected in June. It performs fantastically well and heats the building really quickly.
Whilst writing may I also congratulate you on the first class workmanship of your employees. Their attention to detail and thoroughness was first rate. They left everywhere absolutely spotless and with everything in perfect working order. They were thoroughly professional throughout the job and I cannot commend them highly enough. Please pass on my thanks to them for a marvelous job.

Dear John,
First of all, can we please tell you how completely amazing we are finding Reg to be. He is the most highly skilled, personable, flexible, hardworking man I've met in a very long time. We are finding his time with us to be nothing short of a pleasure - we look forward to seeing him each morning. And Carl is proving to be a very impressive apprentice - always hardworking, polite, sociable and committed to his emerging career. The work that has been done so far leaves us in no doubt that we have found an engineer and a firm that we can really trust to provide the very highest quality of work while also offering good value for money. I understand that Reg is on target to complete the installation on Friday - despite having to juggle things around other trades doing their bit, some of whom have proved much less reliable and accommodating than our Keith Barrow friends.
Thank you for your quotation for guttering. Reg tells me that you will fit black deep flow gutters to cope with the volumes of water from our large and steep roof. I see on the web that there are a number of products that claim to be 'Cast Iron Effect' - is that what you had in mind for our house? It certainly would seem appropriate to fit a form of guttering that imitates cast iron on a house from 1896, although using cast iron itself would be impossibly expensive. I understand that the quote includes all new guttering and downpipes, with the addition of one or two extra downpipes because we currently have too few. Can I also confirm that the length of grey guttering on the brick sheds and its downpipe will also be replaced within this price?
If the proposed style is in keeping and the quote includes the shed part of the guttering we would be delighted to instruct Keith Barrow to proceed with the work as described. Mid September would be fine as we have yet to complete the various works ongoing in the house and have new schools etc. to contend with at the beginning of September.

Dear Mr Barrow,
I am enclosing a cheque for £3,859 in settlement of your invoice 04/3627. As we agreed on the telephone this afternoon I have altered the price of the "extra radiator" from £389 to £300. This has altered the sub total to £3,329 and the VAT to £530 making the new total £3,859. I trust my sums are correct.
Thank you - and your staff - for an efficient job. We were particularly impressed by your young electrician, who did a great job clearing up. Thank you for getting Graham to come and remove the old carcass and fill in the old flue hole last Saturday. We are now waiting to add up the savings in gas consumption!
